North Lakes + Mango Hill Property Management During COVID19 – #challengeaccepted
Last month and continuing still, saw the start of a forced change in our personal and work lives that I hope we won’t ever have to relive.
Thankfully everyone in the North Lakes, Mango Hill & surrounding Aura Rental Management community are well.
Now that things are slightly starting to shift back to some kind of normality, I’ve begun to reflect on the challenges faced so far during the COVID19 epidemic and what it meant for myself and the Aura community.
Flexibility
I’ve never been happier for the decision to make Aura Rental Management a completely cloud based real estate office from the beginning. The transition of working from office to home has been easy – as easy as it can be with two kids. The challenge of home schooling as a mom-preneur is a blog for another day!
Because of this I’m proud to say there were no interruptions of services to landlords and tenants and for that I’d say we’re all winning.
Challenging New Ground for Landlords & Tenants
Cloud-based services are not the biggest challenge here as you know. The financial uncertainty has been stressful for everyone involved.
My heart goes out to the few of my tenants who lost their jobs or had hours reduced finding themselves in financial difficulty. Their patience and openness in awaiting legislative direction and landlord decisions was extremely appreciated and is to be commended.
Paralleled, the understanding our Landlords displayed whilst also facing the financial stresses of loss of income and an uncertain property market. Their putting the health and safety of their tenants as priority was outstanding.
What a community we belong to!
Industry Support
With information changing daily and statements about legislation being announced frequently, there were times it became overwhelming.
Regardless, I’ve never been prouder to be part of the real estate industry.
My appreciation for the support and clarification offered by the Real Estate Institute of Qld (REIQ) was and continues to be absolutely invaluable.
Any information received and any changes that may happen even still, have and will be communicated to my Aura community of landlords & tenants via personal email to ensure everyone gets the information they need.
Our office is slowly opening back up as restrictions ease. But it’s still a time to be vigilant in relation to the health and safety of ourselves and others, as well as dealing with the effects COVID-19 has on the property market.
For my small part I look forward to getting back to business as usual, seeing your smiling faces and being part of the inevitable recovery to come.
Rachel.
